Why do employees, supervisors and managers require safety training?
Workplace safety training is essential for several reasons:

How do I register for safety training?
To register for training in any province, you can call us at our head office at (902) 468-6827 or email us at [email protected].
We will send you a registration form which is to be completed and returned to us in order for the registration to be considered complete.
Where do you offer safety training?
We offer training in Dartmouth, NS (head office), Ville St. Laurent, PQ, Saint John, NB, and Leduc, AB (or we can travel to your site).
How long are the training courses?
Our training courses vary from a half day (ex: WHMIS, LOTO) to five days (technical courses) in length, but typically they are a full day in length.
When do the certifications expire?
Our certifications are valid for three years as per the current provincial regulations (technical courses are valid for 4 years).
If I lose my certificate, can I get a replacement?
If you lose your training certificate you can obtain another one by contacting the Hercules Training Academy (head office).
Please note that the training certificate belongs to the person, business, organization, etc. that pays for the training.
Where and how do I report an unsafe workplace?
Nova Scotia Department of Labour 1-800-9-LABOUR (24/7) or the provincial organization in your respective province (ex: WorkSafeNB, WorkSafeBC, Ontario MOL, etc.)
If I am supervising workers who will be working at heights, do I need fall protection training?
Any person who is using fall protection equipment, supervising, or planning the work of anyone who is working at heights must have fall protection training.
Fall protection products and regulations change so we must be kept up to date. Training must be taken at least every three years.
Do you offer online safety training?
Yes, we offer online safety training.

If I take your forklift operator course, does it enable me to operate all types of forklifts?
No. If you attend our counterbalance and/or narrow aisle forklift operator course, those would be the forklifts you will be certified on and will be able to use. The operator must be trained on the particular type of forklift they will be using.
Do I need to have fall protection training prior to attending a mobile elevating work platforms course?
Yes, it is a prerequisite.
Do I need personal protective equipment (PPE) for all of your training courses?
No, there are several courses we offer that are theory based so PPE would not be required. When you register for a course, we will let you know if PPE is required or not.

Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) is a UK based company that is recognized worldwide. They are experts at all things lifting and have 24/7 technical support.
Our inspectors, technicians, and trainers are LEEA accredited and registered.
Does a worker have to follow industrial standards and codes of practice?
Yes. If a standard or code of practice is referenced or quoted in your regulations, it is now considered to be a requirement of the law, so it must be followed.
